Parenting Five Children

Parenting Five Children

I will get back to customer service shenanigans soon but let me talk about something that is big in our lives right now.

Parenting. 5 children. All under 9.

We do have amazing children with 5 different personalities. I have decided to try implementing something different in our children’s lives this season. I’m posting here so that I’m kept accountable to my words. I did a little bit of research online how to raise kinder children and I found something regarding the 777 rule of parenting.

It is a mindful approach to daily connection with your child. No distractions, phone, laptop, etc.

7 minutes in the morning before school

7 minutes after school

7 minutes before bedtime

I will modify this a bit as I have 4 children that need my attention.   Keep in mind my children are homeschooled with a private teacher. I figured in the morning I have about 1/2 hour free where I can read one book to my 3 year old. Eventually the 5 year finishes school and I will do an activity with him. Then depending on the school workload I spend 10 minutes with the 7 or 9 year old. Basically my goal is for each child to get 10-15 of one on one time with me each day.

For my eldest my goal is to help her to become kinder and more aware of her siblings. I’m currently looking into good reads or programs for that. I will check back in here in a couple of weeks and post an update on my findings.
